A 6’3 Guard from Chicago, Ty Johnson played high school basketball at DePaul College Prep, collecting All-State, All-Area and All-City recognition and leading his team to the Chipotle Clash of Champions tournament title. He made his collegiate debut at Loyola University for the 2021-22 season where he saw court time as a defensive specialist, ultimately deciding to transfer to UC Davis after the season and earning lead guard duties for the Aggies quickly after his arrival on campus. In his most recent season at UC Davis, Johnson averaged 17.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, shooting 44% from the field, and was named to the All-Big West Conference Second Team.
